Formula and scope

Output achievement = actual output / target output. This definition measures attainment of the selected production target.

Results use only visible inputs. OEE thresholds are configurable references, never universal standards. Downtime costs are scenario estimates, not accounting measurements; avoid adding a cost already included in the unit value or contribution margin.

Calculation method

Output mode divides actual output by target output. Time mode divides actual production time by available time; the selected definition is always displayed.

Formulas used

  • Output achievement = actual output / target output
  • Time utilization = production time / available time

Worked example

Example: 850 units against a 1,000-unit target gives 85% output achievement.

How to interpret the result

The percentage describes only the selected ratio. It is not OEE and does not isolate availability, speed and quality losses.

Common mistakes

  • Reporting the result without its definition.
  • Using incompatible scopes for actual and target values.

  • This simple ratio does not explain loss causes or resource productivity.

No. OEE multiplies availability, performance and quality; this tool reports one explicit ratio.

Can efficiency exceed 100%?

Yes if actual exceeds the reference, but verify that both values use the same scope.
