Irrigation Schedule Calculator

Convert crop water demand and sector runtime into a transparent weekly irrigation schedule.

Calculation method

Weekly demand is distributed over the selected irrigation days. Sector events are sequenced from the chosen start time using the calculated duration.

Formulas used

  • Volume per irrigation day = daily demand × 7 / irrigation days
  • Event duration = sector volume / sector flow

Worked example

A 35 m³/day average demand irrigated three days per week requires about 81.7 m³ on each irrigation day.

How to interpret the result

Confirm that events fit source availability and revise frequency when soil storage or crop stress does not support the interval.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a weekly average as a weather forecast.
  • Scheduling beyond available pumping hours.
  • Ignoring soil storage and allowable depletion.

Scope and limitations

  • The schedule is deterministic and does not ingest live weather, soil moisture or controller data.
